I used one for the 1st time 3wks ago cause my father said to use it, I told him it was probably to loud, he said no it isn't. So I took it with me and there wasn't any pops-crack-snaps- anything. I have a heater and it constantly makes noise. He said the key is u have to get it hot the 1st couple of time u start it to get it to heat the element all the way. The glow from the one I took with me to the stand was nothing compared to the ones I have used. These are just my opinions, im sure there are others that hate them but everyone to there own. I waited to just before daylight to start mine about the time you start feeling cold. Left it on for 15 minutes and was just as warm as when I walked to the stand. Glad I could help a few at the price they have it at.
