Hoping the Defense keeps pace but a big task ahead with a heisman hopeful

Would like to see a big improvment game from Calzada this weekend. Some touch on the ball instead of grade A rockets on a 8 yard slant, 65-70% completion and get rid of the dang happy feat in the pocket.

Vegas says a FG favorite in the grove so Ill take that outcome

Those receivers have to catch most of those. Especially if they're gonna play on Sunday. Wydermyer had some BAD drops.

Between the Longhorns and the Cowboys this weekend, I should have gone hunting.... North winds this weekend might have me in a pig blind versus a recliner getting kicked in the nuts...

You’re making this hard to pile on the Horns struggles.

They will win this week and have a good shot of picking up one of the final two and make a bowl.

Cross posted from the end of last thread about the McGurie hire at Texas Tech.

It’s out there now so can talk. Joey McGuire.

This is a fantastic hire. He’s a Mack Brown type CEO so his staff is going to be important, but he knows that, Tech knows that. Lubbock is a challenging place to recruit to, but Joey is the guy to get it done. You won’t find a more well liked, respected coach by the high school coaches around the state. I think he’s going to build a program at Tech that the fans and alumni will be very proud of. So fired up for my Red Raider wife. She worked with Joey through his run at Cedar Hill.

I already have Red and Black gear coming my way by her. I promised if he got the gig so….

Here’s a great article to what high school coaches think about him. He will be welcomed with open arms in every coaching office in the state.

Just coming down from the high that was Aggie Football at Kyle Field. The atmosphere was every bit as good as the Bama game. Wow! Jimbo is building something special.

Another big game this week at Ole Miss. We are going to punish them with our running attack and control the clock. They are gonna be worn slap the **** out by the start of the fourth quarter. Spiller and Achane both go over a hundred. One of them likely goes for 150 on the ground. There. I called my shot!

Josh Moore was obviously suspended for the 1st quarter in Ames, he is now officially gone. Sark needs to clean house, I feel there is a need for major turnover when it comes to this roster.

He never should have gotten to get on the plane to Iowa State. A missed opportunity by Sark.

Ags have to run the ball and keep Corral off the field.

When he does make it on the field he better be running for his life. He's their leading rusher, a huge part of the offense, stopping him is the key.

This was my least favorite SEC shorts so far this season. Although I did enjoy the dig they threw in on Bama’s offense.

Enjoyed the game from the ranch this weekend. Really impressed that we had such a decisive victory without an offensive touchdown. That being said, Calzada still needs to improve and our receivers have to help him out. Sharper routes and better hands. I expect us to continue to lean heavy on the run and our defense. Should be a good one against Ole Miss this weekend. I’ll be tuned in. Haven’t even caught up from the other games of the weekend, but I will.

If Ags don't start fast Ole Miss will run away with momentum at home. We cannot allow them to control the tempo in the 1st qtr. Defense better bet dialed in and I wanna see blitzes from all over the field, make the Heisman hopeful uncomfortable from first snap.

I couldn't be more worried about the matchup, the offense was just not able to seal he deal on Saturday although a few key drops and the Achane nonsense fumble could have led to points. We will never know.

First weekend at the lease so I won't be hurrying back to watch the kick but daylight savings made things a bit easier!!

If Texas wins, and I'm not sure they will, they will definitely NOT cover. Take the points and bet the house, Texas 21-20 if and only if the Texas QB has a good game, which is doubtful.

Tying over from other thread asking about McGuire

Looking at a great recruiter and very well known & respected name in the TX HS football ranks as well as college. He has the potential to be a great hire if he can get a good staff together and hit the ground running. Kirby is opening up the checkbook for one of the larger assistant coach budgets for Big 12 so should be some quality coaches headed to LBK with him. Lack of college HC experience is always a concern but he traveled thru the college ranks quick, Associate Head Coach at BU, and it was a matter of time before he was a college HC. Players love him and love playing for him. Lots of rumors put him in line at BU if Aranda got scooped by another program. I like it and hope his energy can get Tech out of this 10 year funk they've been stuck in.

Agree on McGuire, I think he's a great hire for Tech and I bet he transitions well to being a college head coach but I confess I thought the same for Chad Morris....

Cool thing for him and Traylor is they are both still eligible to participate in the Texas teachers retirement system by working at state universities, huge benefit down the road for those guys. If they left their teacher retirement alone when they left high school jobs they'll be looking at a very nice pension when they retire.

I think there is still a bakers dozen on the roster from that class and most are classified as Sophomores.
