Go old school and do a buck horn kits with a plaque.

Here is what I did with mine - if you do a pedestal I strongly suggest mounting him on a post that goes down into the pedestal so you can turn the deer 360 degrees - makes it easy for folks to look at and also allows you to place it anywhere in your house

I reserve the right to try to change your mind if you come up with something too crazy. None of that deer-melting-into-a-rock, or giant hide-splashed-behind-the-mount-on-the-wall crap.

And really, you have PLENTY of time to figure something out. PLENTY.

How about working a licking branch which you have as part of the mount. Make sure the horns are at the perfect angle to show them off. Have the licking branch coming out of the wall or ceiling.

In my experience when you try and do something out of the ordinary or different, you think man that was a dumb idea, that looks stupid, man that takes up a lot of room in a few years. You got tons of years left to keep mounting big trophies. Let Chance do what he does and get a traditional shoulder mount semi sneak or what you prefer, you’ll be happy you did down the line.
