Well, the first bowfishing trip of the spring was incredible. Steve called me on Good Friday and said all the stars were lining up for a EPIC day on Saturday to sling arrows at monster gar. I have spent countless hours on the water with GarGuy and knew he was serious as a heart attack! I have a 6'2" on the wall and picking up my 7'4" gar later this week from the taxidermist shop...…Steve put me on both of those..….but, this trip was all about hitting that elusive 8' mark or BIGGER. The gar were everywhere...……...literally thousands, but I was looking for Big Momma! I passed on at least three 7' footers but was concerned they may not have been bigger than my 7'4". Lets see if I can post some pics. Did I mention the deckhand (Steve's nephew) got his first alligator gar on this trip......6'3" if not larger!!! That boy is spoiled!!!

On my bucket list after I retire in May of 2020 and move closer to that area! Bowfishing is what go me started into bowhunting. I have shot a ton of carp and smaller needle nose gar and a few decent gator gar but nothing close to what you have shot Oscar. Would love to do a trip with you doing this in the near future!
