I was a kid in the car with my parents when the news on the radio said that Fritos was doing away with the Frito Bandido because it was racist. At that time it was probably LULAC complaining about it. Could be wrong but that is my recollection

They use to put a Frito Bandido pencil eraser in the larger sized bags. I had several of them in Elementary School.
