My Bottlebrush are toast! In the burn pile now. Purple fountain grass bit the dust too.

Strange..:we got down to 8’F here and my potted bottle brush plants are blooming like nothing happened. Didn’t even move them inside.

My bottle brushes survived several bad freezes. I just cut them down to the last 6" and the came back. They were well established though. Oleanders should come back too in most cases.

My bottlebrush are brown and look bad but yesterday I had a landscape specialist tell me to leave them for another 3-4 weeks to see if anything happens.

I trimmed the dead branches of my bottle brush to about 4” tall. Still waiting for some green to emerge

We have a HUGE Oleander out back that all the leaves are brown. Closer inspection and the stalks are still green. Momma and I decided to let it be since we have a LOT of birds that make their nests in it. Hope it comes back but if not by end of May we will have it taken out I guess.

Pulled up all shrubs this last weekend - 90 % dead to the roots. The others had a little green where snow covered them. However, it would take years and years to get them back to the stage they were at before the freeze. Just bit the bullet and pulled them up, bought new and replanted.

The funny thing is that my know it all neighbor had the notion to come over and tell me that I should get HOA approval to replace the dead plants in front.....needless to say I told him that if the HOA would rather look at dead plants vs. new, let some HOA Rep. come knock on my door.

Down south of Houston i had 10 bottle bushes, they were dead to the roots. Cut them off about 6” above ground and dug them out by the roots. Was at a nursery Saturday. They lost about 80% of theres. Seems to be a shortage on them for planting this year,

We had a row of 10 bottle brush. Of those seven are coming back from the roots. They were not protected during the freeze. We also had five large BB. Of those two are sprouting. So don’t be too quick to give up on them.

3 of the 4 bottle brush plants are coming back from the roots. I had cut them back & thought they were dead. I noticed it yesterday while working in the yard.

We lost two mature Japanese blueberries as did a lot of my neighbors. I haven’t seen any growth in mine yet but neighbor is seeing sprouts near the base. I’ll keep procrastinating until they come back or HOA makes us replace them.
