Had our backhoe go 1 bucket wide and as deep as the boom would go... Toilet sat over that for over 25 years... never did have to move it! First few years, you could squeeze one and pinch in off, n stand up and watch it hit!

Heck , lots of outhouses still in use up here. I would much rather use one than a portable toilet. Betting we have less issues with stink and pests getting in them though.
I sure would have dug a nice deep hole and put a solid outhouse over it.
