    Snake ID, Decatur area

Can someone ID this dude for me? Did a quick search but I’m not finding anything comparable. Was 5-6 feet long and approx 1.50 inches in diameter at its widest point. Leaning toward a western rat snake but I’m not 100%. I didn’t kill it, I just pushed it away from the shop. TIA!

Texas rat snake. Caught one two weeks ago after sister in law became catatonic on the patio. If you catch one put it on a tree. Sometimes they will take off and go vertical eon you. Very cool to watch the way they lock their scoots into tree bark.
