          Yes sir, they are good. Ruger put the best barrels that came off the line on the government models. I put those Volquartsen grips on it when I was shooting competition and they really do a nice job, almost like shooting from the bench while standing freehand.

              I've got one of the MKII Govt Targets with some pachmayr grips on it. Was the first pistol "I" got when I was around 12 that my dad bought me. It's still the most accurate handgun I own. I was in middle school at the time and the english teacher asked us to write what we did that weekend. I wrote that I shot my new .22 pistol and said teacher called my parents about it. This was back in 2003. I'd probably be in alternative school these days

                    How times have changed. Back in the early sixties, our dads would pull us out of class to go rabbit hunting and we’d bring pelts and horns to school for show and tell.
