Age Help - Nolan County 9pt

I’ve had pretty low buck numbers up to this point this season. This is the biggest buck I’ve had on camera since the end of July.

I am pretty solidly set on my opinion that this buck is 4 meaning I will likely pass even with not much else to go after. Just how some years are.

What’s the green screen have to say?

I agree with your assessment in pictures 1&2 but leaning towards 3 1/2 on the third. Let him breed is my vote. Every one is different but I won’t shoot a buck deer unless he is inferior or I’m putting him on my wall. Just makes the decision easier for me. Good luck sir.

I dont see that being a 2.5 yr old from last years pic, so I agree with you on 4.5 this yr.

I think your right giving that buck a pass. He's either 3 or 4 and not much of a shooter.

Good news for you is that you probably have a bunch of does and not a super dominant local buck - good chance that it will be a matter of a few weeks before a more dominant buck comes by to check in on things.

This is the hope! Hopefully the rut will bring something around.

seems like his horns are thinner than they should be.
