It good that it’s coming from the horses mouth so hopefully everybody who watches it, believes it and makes changes.

This reminds me of what Abraham said to Lazarus. "If they won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even if someone were to rise from the dead". Many of these people are so addicted to their habits they can't let go even when they've seen the destruction it can/does cause. I pray you are right but I fear most can't let go of the emotional attachment they have to these platforms.

Finally watched it last night, about halfway through my wife laughed and said it sounds like most of her conference calls. She works for a big tech company and said the doc scratches the surface on the info they have on everyone and AI getting better every day. And for those deleting facebook and pics from social media just know those pics are forever on the net, once it's posted it doesn't go away even if you delete your profile

Watched it last night. It was good and the dramatic effect was a nice change of pace although I tend to lean more toward stats for documentaries (thinking about joining the extreme center movement!)

I have two elementary school girls. I used to worry more about the child abduction threat most and now worry more about them hurting themselves. The gen Z suicide stats are alarming for sure. We have a group of 4th grade dads/daughters doing a Brazos river canoe trip in a few weeks and we all agreed this type of bonding with our girls is needed more than ever. It was also eye opening that none of these tech guys let their kids on social media.

I may delete a few apps (not necessarily accounts) and turn off some notifications. Ever since I cut the cable cord, I certainly spend more time on my phone.

While I applaud people for dropping one avenue for social pressure, one should always take the source into account when digesting information.

Netflix actively attempts to get its users to binge watch movies and series for hours, this is also detrimental to metal health.

Netflix itself has had a role in these statistics.

I am preaching to the choir here though.

Not trying to be a shill for Facebook, but remember it can do good things as well. You want to keep up with old buddies, see your grand kids pictures, make sure your ex-wife is unhappy. Facebook is great for that, just don't post your information or any pictures of yourself on it, clear your cookies and history after using it, and don't have it on your phone. No big deal right?

I'm not picking on him, as I thought original post was confusing until I caught up reading.

Keep in mind that Netflix is probably a gnat compared to the big data that the other big tech companies are. At least they give us epstein documentaries and other journalistic content. I don't see my kids being emotionally harmed by Netflix as there is not a direct connection to negative feedback from your "friends". I do agree you have to limit the time on all these things.
