    Stamp Collections

Any advice for someone selling stamp collections? I am helping with my Grandfather's stamps getting gone.

In the DFW area if that helps. I don't really know where to start other than maybe eBay.

I'm no philatelist, but I would suggest finding a stamp collecting forum much like TBH and make an inquiry there.

    Maybe this one.... https://www.stampcommunity.org/

Thought I’ve read that more times than not the collections are barely worth face value. My parents have used my grandfathers collection to mail Christmas cards every year.

I went through this several years ago with a stamp collection that was my Grandfather's. I found a guy here in Houston to go through it and determine what I had. Unfortunately the stamps were only worth face value, even the stamps dating back to the 1860's. Look around in DFW for someone to appraise it, and they could also give you some direction on how to sell it.

In for info also. I inherited a huge stamp collection from my grandfather several years ago and it just sits in my safe.
