                Most likely mustard. If you spread mustard on before seasoning it’ll hold the seasonings and cook away. You never taste the mustard.
                It’s how I season anything for the smoker.

                          I was putting breaks on my beautiful wife's truck
                          It's a whole prime rib 15 lb
                          It's butter mixed with thyme Rosemary smoked paprika coarse salt and coarse ground pepper.
                          The brown liquid is a little bit of liquid smoke.
