    66 years ago today

The mad professor and greatest driver of a tube amplifier...ever, hit the earth.

12 years old and the first concert I ever went to.
    Van Halen's 1980 Invasion tour.
They were so ****ing good, Ed was just burning.

I'm about to drop it down a half step and try to keep up.
    It won't be pretty.

    For all of it, cheers!
    I won't forget about ya.

Great musician. I was grateful to see them in the late 70s with Journey in Corpus Christi. From what little I remember, Van Halen did not headline that concert.

VH fronted for Black Sabbath in Austin before Ozzy's amps burned out ending the show early ("This is not our best").

Van Halen killed it at the Texxas Jamm back in the 70's.

Farm Aid 1985 with Sammy was fantastic!

Ed’s rhythm playing during the Sammy era was pretty good.

Jamming with friends last weekend, we pulled up Mean Street on YouTube.
                7 million hits.

This kid that was sitting in with us said we should play Post Malone’s Goodbye’s..
                I’d never heard it?

                208 million hits.

There are things I’ll never understand.

I heard the new song by Mammoth VH (?) today for the first time. Wolfgang...Son of one of the brothers...I forget which. Song was good but a little soft...album to drop later this year hopefully has alot harder grooves. Apparently Wolfgang plays all the instruments on the track...which caused me to appreciate the song regardless.

                    Good push Clark.

                      Wolfgang is Eddie's son.

Would have been EVH’s 66th birthday.

I almost bought a used Soldano amplifier from a promoter in Austin who bought the rights to the Texxas Jam.
He books a couple Texas artists and tours Europe using that billing.

Useless trivia in case you ever wondered what happened to it.

The Texxas Jam's were awesome! Went in '78, '79 (both June and August) and '80. Saw a lot of good bands. Van Halen was at '78 and '79.

Read a book about VH recently. Several big bands in the ‘70’s hated them because as the “opening act”, they blew the headliners away. Bands such as Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Journey and Montrose. Saw them in 1979 in Dubuque, Iowa. Awesomeness!!
