My dad who lives in Oklahoma was denied purchase of a used car at a dealership because he lived outside of Texas. Have you heard of this before?

Bought my son a new Ford ranger and the dealer about broke the deal when we didn’t have a trade in. They normally have 125 plus f150s, they were down to 5 or so.
