    Legal/Illegal ??

I'm not gonna shoot this joker but wondering if he is legal. Would he qualify as "at least one unbranched antler" ?

Appears to have two unbranched antlers so therefore he is double legal

            Letter of the law: legal
            Intent of the law:illegal

Note: IF NOT CONNECTED. looking close could be connected.... which would change the “letter of law” to illegal as well

            Clear as mud

I know. I hate young deer with multiple main beams. They never turn into anything....

I've got a similar deer on my property. I'd also like to remove him, but don't want to risk it.

Probably damaged in velvet. Very seldom is it genetic.

He's legal. He's has one unbranched antler.

Unless they are off the same main beam.

I wouldn't chance it. Can't tell from that pic for sure.

It all comes down to that connection. Looks connected to me but hard to say for sure.

Didn't think of it until now but I guess that would make any unicorn bucks with an extra pedicle you unbranched antler buck regardless of the size of the rack. Letter-of-the-law loophole there.

Ya, I cant tell without a doubt that they arent connected at the base. He is only a two year old deer and I have no intention of killing him this year, but just wondered what yalls thoughts were as far as even being a legal deer.

It all comes down to if it's connected or not. Hopefully he will be better next year.
