He actually looks like a run down old buck after the rut. He's thick chested and neck, but really tight gut.

      that ones tricky.

5+. Front end bigger than back end, looks like his back comes down a lil, and his eyes look squinted pretty good.

Appreciate the feedback. I guess we should shoot him this year? Thoughts? Get him off the protein bill?

I would bet he's old as well...maybe the frame build makes him appear younger than he is??

He just looks old to me.

My guess is this is the deer in your avatar the year before you killed him. So I’m gonna say 6 yr old in this pic.

Based on those pics, I’m leaning with the post mature crowd

Ding ding ding... he was 6 this year and exploded the next as a 7 year old and was harvested. It's almost impossible to really tell a deer's age unless you know your herd intimately.

Now 1, 2 and 3 are simple, but once they reach 5 it becomes utmost difficult, even though usually their chin flap and brisket give them away.... but not always... here is a pic of this deer growing at 7. He made a dramatic jump.

I've come to find out the more I know about whitetails, the less I know .

He's actually the deer in my Avatar as was pointed out.
