We’ll definitely be hitting some of the food joints and likely some cool day drinking spots. We talked about getting on the lake one day and watching the bats too. Looking at Omni Barton as well. Doubt we’ll venture down 6th by the sounds of its downfall. Looking forward to the trip and just a getaway from kids and work for the most part.

An exhaustive list… wow. As someone who
Has lived north of Austin and visited 100s of times in the last 10-20 years I approve of this message.
Add Hotel Driskill - gorgeous, historic hotel with a great breakfast restaurant and some say it’s “haunted”.

Jacob’s well is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Although it’s a little outside of Austin towards Wimberly.

A lot of mouth breathers and Karen's responding that are clearly wet blankets anyways.
There is a ton to do in Austin, awesome food every where. Just don't go downtown if seeing bums is scary for you.
Walk the capitol grounds or go inside and check it out, check out the bats on congress bridge at dusk, swim at Barton Springs (lots of eye candy), Jester King brewery is a good time.

It's been listed, but i'll re-emphasize:
Perla's
Clark's Oyster Bar
Ranch 616
Stile's Switch BBQ (no sense is waiting in line for BBQ in central TX, too many other good places)
Paper Boy for brunch
Sagebrush is a decent little bar south of town with good live music
The homeless situation sucks and hopefully they get a better handle on it, but as Dale mentioned plenty to do and see and have a good time. Just stay away from the tourist traps.
