I'm headed to the Landcut Friday morning - Sunday anybody got any reports on the ducks and fish out that way?

Buddy in Port Mansfield has been slaying the ducks. You should still be able to pick up some fish but a couple months early for an absolute meat haul.

Thats good to hear, the main focus on this annual trip is ducks but this will be the first time we will be staying in a Cabin out there so hoping to get on some more fish this time around.
I'm a bass fisherman with salt water experience limited to this trip every year, I'm planning on bringing a spinning reel with some jig heads and various colors of gulp baits. Any other must have lures or bass lures that will work?

Spending a few days at the Land Cut is my favorite fishing trip. I did it 6-7 years in a row then my buddy's cabin was irreparably damaged in a storm. They are trying to build it back but it has been slow.

Fishing in the 9 mile hole area was absolutely horrible in August. Worst I've seen in 30 years. The hole should be full of redheads though.

Yea, when diesel was over $4 a gallon and someone offered us twice what we paid for it, we sold it.

I remember you showing up in the RFL.

Wasn’t me in a RFL. Can’t blame you for selling when you get offered a deal like that.

I’ve never fished down there, but would sure love to.

Clint it was more than likely me in the RFL. I still see that place and look to see if your there. Didn't know you sold it but can't blame you. Hope your doing well and Chris as well.

Pretty long run for an RFL isn’t it?

Not at all. I got 38-40 mph on it. Only thing is it gets rough going through baffin if it's windy. Cabin channel is a little smoother but not by much. Taken it many times to the landcut.
