Did ya'll read the bottom of the article ? Talk about backwards laws the guy killed 77 people and got 21 years in prison?
Mass killings are rare in Norway. The country's worst peacetime slaughter was on July 22, 2011, when right-wing extremist Anders Breivik set off a bomb in the capital of Oslo, killing eight people. Then he headed to tiny Utoya Island, where he stalked the mostly teen members of the Labor Party’s youth wing and killed another 69 victims.

Breivik was sentenced to 21 years in prison, the maximum under Norwegian law, but his term can be extended as long as he’s considered a danger to society.

I saw that and thought that was crazy as well. That equates to like 3 months in jail per person killed.

Exactly, seems crazy but it wouldn't surprise me in the least!

IF that really is the case, let's see if Yahoo is as quick to call him "left wing extremist" as they were in regards to the guy from 10 years ago.

I watched a documentary about this. Their prisons equate to a drug rehab or half way house. They don't think prison should be a punishment it should be more of a rehabilitation. The guards sit around on couches BSing with the inmates. I don't think they had fences around the prison.

This makes me wonder, do they work? I mean do they have a lot of repeat offenders like we do here, or do people actually get rehabilitated? I don't know how to fix our prison systems here, but they don't seem to work very well as far as getting people to not reoffend. It seems a lot of people that are in prison here are in a kind of revolving door system where they get out and then they're back in within a couple of years. Like I say I don't have any idea on the correct answer which is why I'm curious if their systems work there

Apparently even the popo don't carry guns over there........none of these terrorist mf's should ever be taken into custody.

You can’t even compare the two societies. What works there will not work here. Socialism works there, because no one wants to be a freeloader, they all contribute to society and happily give about half of their income to taxes.

I agree with you Travis. Hopefully it was none of our folks but with a town as small and "quaint" as K'Berg, i'm sure some of our families were affected.
