120/240v twist lock outlet, 4 prong on generator.

Do any of you guys use this outlet if you have it on your generator? If so, what for?

Probably going to buy a generator tomorrow and wonder if it is important to have a 240v outlet?

    Thanks

If you have a 50 amp RV, that would be 240V

If properly connected, it could be used to power part of your home.

Also generally you get your most amps when you hook up to this type of outlet. Most of the household type outlets on a generator are generally only rated for 15-20amps.

Used one on past to run a well pump motor that used 240. Always worth having something that provides 240 vs 120 only.

Yes. I have an adapter built for mint to plug my welder in.

As mentioned, use to power welder or well pump or parts of your home during an extended outage.
