    Jeep advise

I’m wanting a jeep for the beach, and something to drive to work.
What’s the most desired jeep motor? Year model?

        Definitely the 4.0 Inline 6. It’s a workhorse w plenty of power. My neighbor has an old CJ7 with a GM327 V8.sweet.......

L-134 Go Devil. :-). Love those little engines.

As stated, the 4.0 is the modern engine to seek.

              I've got an 08'. With a V6.../ 6 speed manual.
So far, I've got no complaints.
I drove it up to Colorado. Had it buried up to the head lights.
And she was still, looking for a tree to climb...
The only trouble I had, was crossing a frozen creek...
Trying to climb the other side, was a challenge.
But then.... ain't nothing good on ice...
Especially the Toyota following me... But, I've got a winch....

After having everything form a 50s Willys to a 2022 Willys I would say to get the newest one that will fit in your budget.

If you can find it an 05-06 TJ with the 4.0L and 6 speed manual is hard to beat.

Actually everything on the road will beat it.

4.0 or 4.2 are the best engines Jeep ever had. I’ve had YJ, JK, CJ’s snd so on. I currently run a 81 CJ5 4.2L and it’s in almost pristine condition. I live 40 miles from SPI and my wife hates the fact that I won’t drive it on the beach. But living down here I’ve seen what one time on the beach can do.

If your looking for a beach runner, get an old TJ with a 4.0L and it’ll do that just fine.

                        Your probably right...
But in a Jeep, it ain't about speed.
                        It's about, getting there...

In my opinion the TJ was the best jeep.
                          Especially a Rubicon with 5.13 gears…

TJ unlimited = LJ Rubicon with the 4.0 is probably the best! And CJs!

How far is you commute to work? How big a fella are you? I ask because the TJs are great but not for everyone when it comes to daily drivers. Very compact inside once the doors are on so can be a tight fit for some. I've had YJs, TJs, and JKs when I get another it will be a JK 2012 or newer.
