    Another mass shooting avoided.

    Cannot find the info/report but Fox said a SRO shot and killed a person with a rifle trying to break into an elementary school while summer sessions were happening. The principal saw the perp, put the school on lockdown and called the SRO that was on campus. The perp is dead and the SRO has some injuries.

    Good guy with a gun kills an bad guy with a gun!

      The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has taken over an investigation into the fatal police shooting Thursday morning of an as yet unidentified man outside Walnut Park Elementary School in Gadsden.

      Officials say the man tried to get into the school through several doors, but all were locked. His motives for trying to get into the school were not known, and school and law enforcement officials alike were praising the reaction to the incident: The would-be intruder never made it into the school, and the only substantial harm was suffered by him.

                I have read at least 10 news articles from various sources since the story came out. The last one I read was posted about 20 minutes ago. None had mentioned any weapons by the man killed.
