        Awesome!! Congrats to him.
Many, many years ago, I killed a Tom in St Augustine Co. it was the first spring hunt they had and the second bird killed. The local Sheriff killed one that morning and mine was early afternoon. Your had to check them in is how I know all this. The local paper came out snd the whole deal. Lots of fun.

I will confirm that Easterns in East Texas are a totally different game than Rios. I’ve killed Rios with a rock….been trying for 5 years to kill an Eastern on our place in Red River county. I can’t figure out how a bird with a brain the size of a pecan can be so smart.

But its not the size of a pecan, its even worse. A pea sized brain.

                            Congrats to your dad!!

I wonder how common it is to try to manage turkey in east texas or to try to breed them to restore their numbers.

There just isnt many of them around it seems.
