Arrived at North gate at 0615

Found my 1st buck bed. Picture perfect location in a funnel between 2 ponds in chest high grass.
Watched 2 bucks sparring from 60yds along with 4 does.
Saw 7 bucks and 14 does total today.
10.5 miles of boots on the ground.

4 spots pinned and prepped.

Definitely putting in the work

Talked to the guys running hunt today.

Almost all yellow gates will be opened.
No access from 287. Everyone must access area from main entrance.
Entire North unit will be open, no compartments.

The main powerline was cleared down to dirt. Pipelines are 6-8" tall.

Postcard hunt, draw hunt is south unit only now I think. RC just like Gus Engeling allows baiting now. Some good changes this year, I wonder if someone new is running the place?

They Ok'd you using cell cams out there? Don't know about WMA's but the national wildlife refuges don't allow cams of any type for scouting.

Its my understanding bowhunters will be hunting the north units that are around the marsh areas. We hunted that area two years ago, in my opinion locate trails going to private land. Ladder or pop-up should work.
