    Watermelon chunking event

    Went to one yesterday
Had to be one of the most impressive DYI
Toys ever. 4 of the catapults there throwing melons up to maybe 500 feet.
I have a couple poor videos if someone hasn’t seen this.

FYI. Probably a 50 melons thrown with crazy accuracy at a 100 yard target

Where was that? I want an excuse to build a siege weapon.

Blanket, Texas! I lived there a few years. My Pops was a minister there at the UMC for 4 years back in the early 1960s.

It hasn’t changed much. Just a few retirees building new home and moving to escape “modern” society. I’m one of those.

A trebuchet is a type of catapult that uses a swinging arm to throw a projectile.

thanks for the explanation and edumication.
I had a great time even though some of my new neighbors don’t know my background and figure I’m just another “gentleman rancher from the city”. (One fellow used that term as a slam on my brother in law cause they were on opposites of a wind turbines debate ).
Others greeted my like long lost family. I Made a living in the oil field based out of Houston and now ready to get back to the way I was raised.

FYI. Great deer genetics in our area, just no chance to mature. Like a lot of Texas.
