    Shooting Star?

I was jogging early this morning, and at this point it's 15 minutes until sunrise..so it's pretty much full visibility/light. Then a shooting star crossed right in front of me, apx 100 feet, possibly the size of a golf ball. I only saw the light for a second then it disappeared.

    Any ideas...star, meteor?

Probably a meteor burning up in the atmosphere.

100ft was probably another jogger with a flashlight.

Were you jogging next to a golf course?

Did you hear it hit the ground? 100’ you should have walked out there and looked for it.

i've found them to look deceptively close during the annual meteor showers, but they are in reality much farther away than they seem.

                  really cool daytime sighting!

It was very light at the time. Would not have seen a flash. Just like a shooting star, it burn out quick.

I'm very curious to know what you saw. Was there anything behind this that you know the distance of? Houses, tree line, etc?

Is it possible it was a glare off the lake?

I didn't hear any landing. When it happened I was cornering out of a parking lot. When I came around on the path I looked through the grass in case I could see something smoking, but nothing. When the flame went out, I didn't see a projectile continue.
