Western CO 2nd/3rd Rifle OTC help

So far I’ve spent 2 weekends out there, once to interview and last weekend to rent a house in GJ. Want to try an OTC rifle tag for 2nd or 3rd season but literally have NO idea where to start. Not looking for anyone’s honey hole but if you could suggest a unit, or hell anything else I might need to know, that would be amazing.
Fishing advice welcome, too!
Next season hopefully some resident tags fall my way…

You really can't go wrong anywhere in Colorado (largest elk herd in the nation)-- look for access above anything and by that I mean LARGE blocks of USFS or BLM. 2nd and 3rd OTC for elk is an 'orange army ' affair. Find somewhere that you can get in deep and early to get away from that and let them push the critters deep to you.

Highly recommend looking through the CO online resources for draw and success odds.
