The rod is 1.5 inch left over from the roller built. It should be strong enough.

The parts that slide over the forks will be turned over.

I have 40 t-poles to push in to finish the new fence on 1/2 of my front property line

Agree with the gas can, a deputy here died from that very accident several years ago, slag and plastic gas cans are no Buena!

I would recommend flipping that thing upside down
where the force will be pressing against the rectangular tube instead of completely relying on the weld. Don’t take this the wrong way, but If you’re driving posts in hard ground, those welds probably aren’t going to last long.
