I am an engineering major studying in Longview, and am looking for some public hunting land for the weekends. The closest decent hunting I have been able to find is Alazan south of Nacogdoches. Any suggestions of other places I should try?

Old Sabine River Bottom in Lindale will make you work for your money... -
caddo lake unit #730 east of Marshall on hwy 43. good number of deer, no monster bucks, also hogs. caddo state park just up the road at Uncertian TX.
Alazan bayou in Nac. is well worth the trip. very good the last of oct,and first of nov. good luck
