The island pour went well. There is still some more work needed before staining and sealing but the hard stuff is past me.
Going to take a break from concrete and starting building some of the upper cabinets for the kitchen.
Here are a couple of pics.

Wow!!!! I love the concrete counter tops! Truly makes me regret going with granite last year while doing my remodel.

                    errr thanks

Working on building the upper kitchen cabinets at the moment. I have plenty of time on my hands due to CV19 but supplies needed are in low quanties. My supply of maple has nearly run out and don't have enough for the doors. I am not a cabinet builder by any means and have run into a few snags but I am marching on. Going to try to dry fit them. My helper (aka) wife will be down later today to give me a hand. Going to knock the forms down and clean up the plastic and debris around the island. May get to stain some of the counters too. We will see.

As I have mentioned before I don’t have plans for anything and fly by wire most of the time. This kitchen is no different , I’ll just have an idea in my noggin and draw it on a scrap piece of wood. I run it by the wife and if she approves I’ll start.

Here is the print/ drawing of the cabinets I am going with.

The island looks great. Your drawings made me laugh. This is exactly how my drawings turn out when trying to explain my ideas to someone.

Working on building cabinets. Lots of birch plywood and solid maple being cut. I wound up having to rip a bunch for stiles and rails so the power feed on my saw made it easier. Click image for larger version

Made an oops on a stile. It was a bit to wide to flush trim so I cut it down a hair with my track saw.

Still following. Good stuff, sir. So, did you already own every cool tool known to mankind, or have you been picking stuff up to be used for this build?
