My buddy was walking back from the morning hunt it was pretty much laying on the side of the road. You could tell there had been a fight tall grass,trees,bushes laid over heavy paw prints and kicked up dirt everywhere. It looks like he got stabbed in the eye but I wouldn't think that would kill him. Im not sure if it was a broken neck heat exhaustion etc.

The stab through the the eye probably killed him. Could have gone deep enough to hit the brain.

It had to have happened right before daybreak cause it was about 150-200 yards from his tree and he never heard it. Between his legs were still warm and he wasn't bloated or real stiff

No. Tried contacting 2 game wardens even left messages. He may have talked to them since im not sure . The deer was almost borderline not being any good but ran home to attempt to clean it not sure if the warden would have done anything different that late in the game.

If it was laying on the side of the road, couldn't it possibly be a road kill? A car or truck could do that kind of damage...maybe.

There is huge washouts on this road no way a vehicle can get back there.
