Colorado giving state's electoral college votes to national vote winner

WOW ... how long will it be before the electoral college is really irrelevant?

"New Colorado law will give state's electoral college votes to national popular vote winner"

Colorado could be part of voting history next general election day, joining 11 other states looking to ensure that their electoral college votes echo the will of the American majority to elect the next president.

Lame that’ll be the end of the republic, and that would suck

They are not the only state.

It’s a great plan for them if a Republican wins but doesn’t win the popular vote but it will be ironic if it’s the other way. CO has gone all Blue. The left is losing their minds.

Now another way to look at it is in TX and other states your vote can count twice. Our state and CO (and even in other states).

i can’t believe their state legislature could even get that through... I guess that’s what happens when the state is controlled by cities like denver that are liberal. Just like Texas having its major cities almost run the entire state with its liberal thought of mind.

My initial thought was that this would set the stage for a huge Supreme Court challenge, but I’m not so sure. The SC has largely stayed away from the EC. Seems the EC can vote however the state wishes it to vote.

States get to determine the way their electoral college votes are handled. This is why some states are an “All or nothing” and some have partial or district options.

In fact, there have even been instances of electors voting different than the constituent vote, which is entirely legal. (Although admittedly shady)

The electoral college is regulated by the feds, its not a state power. The administering of the election is a state power but the president is the only electoral college vote.

Curious as to which exact law you’re referring to.

The exact reason why we need a STATE electoral college as well.

That the President is elected by the college. CO can be an all in state and can not add their indivigual votes to the race........

As it stands right now there have to be enough states willing to do this that add up to 270ec votes.
8f they do not get any other states or enough states they will still assign those ec votes as in the past.
The socialist will do anything to take over our country and that's why no one should ever again vote for a lib
