Default Another POS Tikka Rifle.

These Tikka rifles are not what they are made out to be. My dad wanted me to shoot his new CTR in and I am extremely disappointed. My son shot the first round and I proceeded to shoot 4Ė3round groups with the factory ammo he gave me.

Iím thinking he needs to call Tikka and get his money back.

American Gunner 140gr 0.246Ē
Hornady Black 140gr .506Ē
Hornady 140 ELDM .396
Federal fusion 140gr 0.316.

Tikkas are are crap.

Donít buy them.

Most tikkas shoot those awful little tiny groups just like that! Thanks for the public service announcement.

Try going up to a 165 or 168 grain bullets. From my experience 308's like a little heavier bullet. Mt CTR will shoot a 5 shot one-hole group that can be covered up with a dime using Federal 168 gr Matchkings and 165 gr Gamekings.

Price? Since it doesn't qualify to your standards. I'm sure someone will take a gamble with handloads to tighten up the groups.

That .506 on the left is horrible!
Hard to believe they let that one out of the factory, send it back, they'll make it right.

I jest fellas. This is the 11th Tikka I have shot. If the end goal is tiny groups it makes you wonder why people spend big bucks on custom rifles.

All the deer I’ve ever seen could dodge those groups pretty easily. You need a bigger “pattern” so they can’t get away !

Tikkas are great rifles! Canít say that I recall seeing one that didnít shoot pretty well. Easy trigger job with a mountain tactical spring and the trigger is fairly nice too.

I have some full up customs but at the end of the day the only thing that matters (to me) is tiny groups and rounds on target. If I can get that with a $1100 rifle I donít see the need to spend $2000. I know some folks like to say they have a custom rifle and that is A-OK with me. Iíve bought some.

My personal CTR shoots 0.3 MOA all day long to 700yds. My GA 300 does right about that but I paid over twice as much for it. Maybe even a bit more.

I can buy a lot of boolits and beer for the cost difference.

Man you rarely hear anything bad about them… I’m on a Bergara fbook page and a guy started bad mouthing tikka… more people came to came to the defense of tikka on there than they do Bergara.. lol

To really crisp up the trigger for cheap I’d recommend a Mtn tactical trigger spring

Accuracy is pretty much just expected (as it should be) in the rifle world now. Itís not difficult with todayís technology to build an accurate rifle. Sure, you can buy sub-$1000 rifle that shoots under half MOA, but thereís no comparison between it and a quality custom rifle in basically every other category. Youíre paying for a lot more than just accuracy when you build a custom rifle.
