Default Need Game Camera

I need to buy 3-4 game cameras.

I donít need bells and whistles. It would be nice but not necessary.

What I need is dependable.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Mike.

We have been running GardePro A3 cameras for a couple of years now. They have a lot of the bells and whistles. Great trigger speed, quality pics and videos, will take video and pictures at the same time with audio. Wide field of view and great distance as well. You can snag them on Amazon for about $65

How is battery life?

Really depends on which settings you are running. If you have the dual picture/video feature on set at a small interval reset it will obviously be much less. I get just over 8,000 pics/videos on 8 AA's.

The one I have at the house is set at 3 Hi-Res pics & a HD Video at a 3 minute interval so I hit the 8k mark in about 4-5 weeks. I put new batteries in 3 weeks ago and will pull the card in the next day or two. I will see where its at and let you know.

Natchez has a sale on Browning for $61 I think. Great cameras, easy to operate and battery life when using Li batteries is excellent. 20,000+ pics.
I run about 10 of them.

Who long does it take for you to get that many images?

Reason I ask, is I get ~3-4K images a month, so that would only be ~2 months for me. I set to picture only, 2 pics per trigger and 30 sec delay.

Browning Strikeforce has always been good.

Still havenít found a reliable cell camera. Been through two moultries and a Spypoint. Iíve heard good things about the Tactacam cell camera so I just purchased one of them.

Moultries have been solid for us for years...but eat batteries.

I purchased 2 from Amazon last year called Vikeri for $67 and they have performed flawlessly thus far (out 6 months last year and just put them out again last weekend). I didn't replace the batteries last year on either of the two over the 6 months.

Do yourself a favor, just buy the $35 Muddy cams and foot the bill for your own memory cards and batteries. Think they are the same as Stealthcam.

The Browning, wild game innovations, and others just suck and have intermittent motion detection, battery housing, and other crap that just sucks and makes you feel like you got ripped off.

Browning was the absolute worst for me, Moultries and wild game innovation was a close second.

Even have two muddy cell cams that someone on here recommended and they are still working great.

Probably depends on what chinese kid put it together.

SD card readers are a whole nuther basket of crap. The only one that works right for me is the Apple version.

I use to swear by Cuddebacks, I like white flash pictures at my feeders. Still love them for feeder cameras, but use Browning for everything else. I currently run around 20 Brownings, never had a single problem with them. Battery life is amazing too.

About a month. Lots of coins squirrels and a buck & doe that show up 2-3times a day. With what your describing I would think you would be good for 8-10 weeks. They are pre wired for an add on solar panel also. So if your not able to frequent your cam you could always add that.

Iím 400yds from my cam so itís no big deal for me

Thanks for the feedback.

I’m still running older Bushnell and they are still doing ok. Nice thing is, I will get almost a year on a set of alkaline batteries. Have one that get stuck in night mode from time to time. The ‘fix’ is to whack it.

Curious how the Brownings mentioned here are doing.

I have owned a couple of Cuddebacks and will never own another.

First person Iíve EVER heard of not loving the browning. Strike force or higher and youíre golden. Which model gave you fits? Iíve got a ton of them. 12+ that I can remember. They last a year or so on lithium AAs. Lots of pics. My one complaint is night time range but with IR thatís part of it.

Whatever models that were over $80. They also seem to break the little battery cartridge mechanism

Go to Walmart and buy the 29.00 Tasco, they are a very basic camera. Fire ants, humidity, thieves and woodpeckers have changed my mind about dropping 100.00 on cams anymore.

I have owned about every brand known and always thought the best pics come from Browning or the high end Bushnell. If you are gonna buy Browning, buy them from Gunnyart on here as he is a site sponsor and a good guy.

Two problems I had with Browning was the battery trays have a weak contact spring and woodpeckers poke out the tinted cover for the sensor, I dont know why but just my experience.

Probably two or three companies make all of them, they all say "Hecho in China" on the bottom of the box

I did figure out that if I put the sunshade on Gunny's T Post mounts, Woody Woodpecker does not poke at them as much.

The Brownings did me well. I now use the Tactacam cell cameras and love them. With lithium batteries they last a very long time. One doesn't have to use the cell feature if you don't want to...

Another vote for the Browning cameras Great pics and really good battery life on the lithium batteries. Thousands of pictures on ours We run about 15 units year round and the only trouble I have is birds or squirrels messing with the covers occasionally. They are cheap enough to keep a spare or 2 handy. We love ours

i run a lot of cameras doing wildlife surveys while managing properties. Used many different ones over the years but recently i have had tremendous luck with Stealth Cameras (knock on woods). I have little to no issues the past two years since switching to Stealth. Good luck choosing one.
