Wife and I are going to a concert at Red Rocks in August and need some help with best place to stay. Preferably something close to the venue. Or if its best to stay in Denver that's ok as well.

Last time we went some of the cousins were staying in VRBO's that were close. You will definitly get your steps in !

We stayed in Golden last summer. Lot's of cool bars/restaurants there. Only a 10-15 minute drive from RR.

Thats a neat place. We went and checked it out a couple of weeks ago when in Denver. Definately want to make a concert there some day. Was about a 30 minute drive to Denver proper, but there were a lot of hotels pretty close to it.

The Origin - Red Rocks (a Wyndham Hotel) is a great place to stay. Bunch of us stayed there October before last for Blackberry Smoke & Allman Betts band at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Super close to the venue, shuttle bus to and from the venue, huge Ice house right across the street, several small restaurants and a brew pub also just down the street (easy walk). Plus, the hotel bar says they usually close at 10pm but as long as enough folks were in the bar drinking they'd stay open. Think they findly ran us out around 2am. Great location and place over all.

Make sure to take a shuttle to Red Rocks. Drops you off and picks you up and you can bring your ice chest on the bus. There are a couple of places where they pick up but well worth the time and money.

Golden is very close, and downtown Golden is full of OLD bars, and some newer with mucho craft beers, and tunes. Only 5-6 miles from RR.

Our Uber driver to RR told the traffic folks he had some VIPs or somesuch, and they let him drive up to the top to drop us off, it was money. Getting out sucked, but the venue is worth it.

Like others have said, Golden is a great location, 15 minutes to RR and maybe 20 or so to Denver.
I recommend getting a burger at Bob's Atomic Burgers in Golden then walking over to the Coors Brewery. $10 ticket gets you three draft beers in neat little lounge upstairs.
