Does stopping hogs work?

Say you have a walking hog and are bow hunting, do you have success in stopping it with a sound,( like you would stop a deer,) or would it be more likely to just run instead of stop?

theyll stop, but itll be for a split second. they wont stick around and try to investigate like a deer. you better be drawn, pin settled, stop em, release fast.

I would not try to stop one as your more likely to send it running then it stopping.

From my experience... once they stop you have about .5-1 second until they bolt. that’s IF they stop. I’d rather shoot them on a walk

Tried to grunt to stop a pig once and it went exactly as others have said. That joker hit the afterburners

I’ve hunted a lot of hogs and never had one stop. They all take off running. Best bet is to shoot it on the move or wait and hope it stops for a second on its own.
