    Trip to New Orleans

Give me the do’s and dont’s. We’ll be staying 5-10 mins from Bourbon St. I don’t know exactly where as I didn’t plan this trip.

We’ll be going toNew Orleans next Saturday and leaving the following Tuesday. Should we expect it to still be packed following Mardi Gras? All we have planned is Bourbon St. one day/night and the WWII museum.

Recommendation on restaurants and other things to do? I don’t need anything too fancy that I have to make reservations for or wait in line for 60+ mins to eat. But I would like some good food.

Vendor took my wife and I to the Royal Sonesta. They booked sleeping rooms facing the courtyard so we could get a good nights sleep and one room with a balcony overlooking the street. We found some great local places to eat a block or two off Bourbon street. I remember looking to the canal and seeing a long line out at Joe's Crab shack and thinking I can get that anywhere.

X2 I only eat oysters in NOLA, at dragos. They’re amazing. WWII museum is great too, it covers both campaigns, pacific and Europe, so probably will take 2 trips to see it all.

Go across the river to Algiers and visit the point bar. Really neat has been in many movies, contraband,Stallone movies expendables. Char oysters are great at Royal something on royal street they are fantastic. Name eludes my brain fog.

My favorite chargrilled oysters are at Mr. Ed’s Oyster Bar on Bienville in the French Quarter.

If asked to take a bet on someone telling you where you got your shoes at even though they weren’t there when you got’em, just say, “there on my feet!” And move on. It is a street hustle.

We just got back from my buddies bachelor party, we had a decent time up until shots rang out 20 ft behind us! Watched an innocent girl lose her life! Keep your head on a swivel and your wallet in your front pocket, I doubt I will ever go back.

We were there at the same time but already back at the hotel. We spend ALOT of time at the beach and Willie's Chicken Shack. Thankful no one in our group was there at the time.
