Investment advisor since 1985. Quite stressful at times knowing people have to a large degree put their financial future in my hands. Very satisfying as well when I see longtime clients retire comfortably at least partially due to my advice and counsel. In my business there are good stretches and very bad stretches but it is rarely boring.

Been in Medical Device Sales for going on 18 years now. First 12yrs were in trauma and pretty demanding with unknown hours a lot of times and on call most all the time. Last 5+ have been on the capital equipment side and much better for the family life and hunting hobby. Was tired of missing my kid’s growing up and family time. Medical has been a good industry. It’s changed a lot, but still has its perks. I’m able to be home and hunt a lot more now

Commercial construction superintendent here. I did industrial construction early on, was just a number for a large chemical company for 3 years before going back into construction. Not all projects are fun, but they’re all different and challenging in their own ways, and it’s extremely satisfying to start with an empty, large acreage site and then step back and look at what you’ve built when it’s complete. The friendships/relationships that I’ve made over the last 20 years are a bonus.
