Unpopular opinion but maybe get a career that doesn’t require a side hustle?

Ain’t no way I’m gonna bust my tail at one place to only have to do it again for another person.

I do shop welding/fabrication. Guide 4-5 hunts in the winter on a local ranch.

Also run a couple hundred commercial dorper sheep. Just added a small herd of full blood dorper ewes to raise a few show sheep.

I make sure my wife and I balance kid handling before and after work so that her career can grow as well as mine. If we both climb the ladder and make more money, no side hustles necessary.

Not unpopular in my opinion, but pray your life never gives you reason to stay that busy in order to keep your mind off other things.

Some folks can make decent money on the side while enjoying a hobby that can produce some sort of income.

EDIT: Some people are also money driven no matter what they make, but usually will not need any help finding what that extra work may be.

That just sounds miserable to me!! I would like them all too much.

I work on four wheelers/small engines. Get the knowledge on how to repair my own stuff as well as make some money to put aside for student loans.
Also help a neighbor fix up old cars but I'm not paid for that, just do it for fun to keep my mind off college

Definitely hard to make a profit. I do love shooting. Unfortunately, my main gig is offshore, so gone for a month at a time and that doesn't help with keeping clients happy.

Find you a group of little old wider women, they can find more than 3 of you could keep up with, charge a nominal fee and it should even out to where you'll make a little money and not be chasing leaky faucets and squeaky ceiling fans every free minute.

No more side hustle, I missed out on a lot of huntin, fishin and family time doing a second job, almost 20 years worth. I regret working all the time back then and not doing things with my family, especially my dad. He was always asking me to go coon huntin or fishin and I always told him I was too busy. When I did go with him all I thought about was work.

Reckon I let money get in the way.

So someone posted get another job that doesnít require a side hustle.... with that said, my wife is a mechanical engineer and between her salary (just got another raise) and her bonus, she alone is in 6 figures. Even still, she has a side hustle that started as a hobby and now is becoming busy. Not that she is complaining Bc it brings in an extra $1200 a month. She makes custom wedding signs that are stained and hand painted.

She loves her career and loves her ďside hustleĒ but itís a hobby that pays pretty well for being a hobby.

As far as getting a ďbetterĒ job do you donít have to side hustle, imho, youíre never too good to work a little harder or make a little extra money...

I guess I could always work some of that overtime they are always offering, it pays 1.7 the normal rate, 2.2 the normal rate for the 7th day. It's pretty hard to beat if you are looking for extra money.

I just never hardly have time or desire to do it.

I had a pretty successful barbecue trailer for a while. It took off like wildfire the first day it was open. A bit overwhelming. It got to the point that I was getting up early Friday morning and I literally did not go back to sleep until Sunday night. Food was all cooked on a custom offset stick burner (the only way I’d ever do it) and it was more work than you could ever imagine. Prep meat, cook meat, get meat in holding ovens, leave the house to go set up and sell, sell out in 2-3 hours, come back home and start all over again for Sunday. Those of you that think “real barbecue” is expensive......there is a **** good reason why. Brisket was $19.99 a pound and they would be lined up to buy it before we even opened the window. I could only cook about 10-12 at a time on that 250 gallon pit and still have room for pork butts. When we’d sell out of brisket people would be so ****** off. One guy cussed us and threw gravel on us spining out of the parking lot we were setup in.

Depends on what you call good money. I was averaging $200-400 a week. But I also live just down the road from my traps so my cost is low. Iíd keep hogs in the trailer for a couple days and keep them cool and sell twice a week or so. Itís s good way to pay to keep my feeders full.
