Advice needed on good shop for Ford A10 Transmission

Hey gang, to a follow up on my other thread about my '18 F150 with the 5.0/A10 transmission that began having shifting issues, I did a hard reset on the truck by disconnecting the battery and touching the battery cables together... After that reset, the transmission did shift very smoothly for a short period, but then began having issues once again with hard shifting, skipping gears, and rough downshifts from time to time... This past Saturday on a return trip from a drive down south, just before I got home, the truck's display threw a screen that simply said "See Manual" and displayed a "wrench" on the screen...

I'm pretty sure it's got more than just adaptive shifting issues now...

Does anyone have a dealership or a trusted shop experienced in these A10 transmissions in the Houston area that they could recommend? Anyone who actually is an experienced transmission guy or any referral would be greatly appreciated.
    THANKS!!

If you're willing to go to Angleton I know a great guy.

I refused to give trans shop referals for years. Too many outlaws with $100K boats.

Well AAMCO on 610 by the dome has earned my respect. Great folks...

Charlie, I don't have transmission specific experience with them but the service department at the Ford place in Cleveland has really impressed me with their customer service and promptness.

I recently had to replace a sensor on my transmission that went bad and was causing it to randomly down shift and skip gears but cant remember what it was called. Was the same part there was a big 1.2m recall on for some older 2009-2013 F150 models. But was glad it was not actual transmission problem even thought it felt like it.

I think this is the deal with mine too... The A10 has a "manual" mode... I can manually shift it through all 10 gears and it works just fine... and resetting it, it changes up where/how it shifts, but it is skipping gears, and downshifting hard sometimes, and sometimes it almost over revs the engine when it starts to up shift to the next gear...

Aghunter, I was warned specifically about the Ford dealer in Cleveland... not to take it there for Transmission work...

Charlie, google your issue. You’ll get some info and video.
I have a 2016 6 speed with same issues that the 2009-2013 recall had. Ford denies 2016 have the same issues. I can’t complain too much I have 245,000 miles on it.

What year is yours and if you remember the part you replaced let me know!

Here is what I know. I spend a lot of time in Ford stores. 3 weeks ago a long time transmission specialist at a Ford store said they did not have any paper or rubber gasket kits available. He says they are scarce in the after market too. I would not tear one down right now if that’s the case still today

That’s funny. AAMCO has something of a poor image but I know one here in Austin that I trust
