Compound Bow vs Crossbow.

I'm sure that this question has been asked before, but not by me. I want some real help in deciding which ones to use.

Here are the criteria that I need to work with

1. Shooting from the ground (afraid of heights). Movement when drawing a bow
2. Have been told to shoot left-handed because I'm left eye dominant.
3. Unsteady hands due to medication.
4. Cost
5. 56 years old

Please tell me any tips you have for ground hunting.

If you can swing a bow I'd do that. I bought a crossbow at one time because I've wanted to kill a deer with every legal means(shotgun, pistol, black powder, etc) and after shooting it I just didn't care to do so. I'll kill them with a bow.

I’d opt for the Fieldpod Max - much more sturdier. They’re marketed by Bog now.

I’m left eye dominant as well but chose to shoot a vertical bow right handed. With both eyes open I just used the set of pins on the left.

I don’t use hang ons anymore but still like ladder stands but every setup has a lifeline attached correctly.

I carry a turkey lounge chair on occasions to hunt on the ground as well - I don’t bounce as well as I used to.

Because of a torn rotator cuff, I hunt with a crossbow. I’m down to having just 2 now.
