Default Had to say goodbye for now

I had to make the tough call to put my lab/mix, Lola down today. She had congestive heart failure and the pills quit working on keeping the fluid off. She had a fainting spell Tuesday when we were away in Dallas due to her heart not working properly. She came through that time but the doc said that she might not if it happens again. I came home from work today and she wouldn’t even get up. Her breathing became labored so I called the vet. I was blessed to be her keeper for 16 wonderful years. I laid her to rest next to her sister Lucy. Gonna miss that crazy dog. Give yours an extra pat tonight.

I’m sorry for your loss. Great dogs give so much in the relative short time they have with us.

Sorry to hear about your Lola. Look through those 16 years of pics of her and know she will always be with you. Who’s a good girl? Lola, that’s who!

Man,it sucks..My last pup had his hips quit working on him..He was close to 15yrs old.Blue heeler..I swear the day I put him down,he tried harder than ever to get up,and walk..He actually whined, and bit at his back leg..I'll never forget that day. He's buried right next to his buddy between two massive pecan trees in Red Oak,Tx.

The hardest thing to do is to be there for them at the end because they've there for you their whole lives. But in the end it is worth it, for the exact same reason. My deepest sympathies.

Tough decision but you made the right one. She gave you a lot in those 16 years and you did the same for her. Stapleton has a tune out right now called Maggie's Song that pretty much sums it up. Sorry for your loss.

Heart goes out. Some dogs are better than some humans around us.
Our lab is part of the family, follows behind everywhere, always there with a lick
Dang I'm pushing it but she's one of the kids.

Tough deal, I am sorry for your loss. 16 years is a long time for a lab to be here so I am sure you had a lot of good years together.

Thanks guys. She didn’t have a bad bone in her body. The only harm she would ever do is lick someone to death. Couldn’t get her to quit. She wouldn’t jump on you. Wouldn’t get into the trash or tear anything up (at least after the puppy years). Just an all around great dog. My other dogs have been down in the dumps the last couple of days. One has takin’ to tearing up toilet paper of all things. I guess she thinks we did something with Lola and she’s not happy about it. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers. It’s crazy how attached you get to the good ones. My dad has always had bird dogs and I’ve seen my fair share of dogs come and go but she was something else.

Prayers for you and your family.... Losing a companion like that is so hard.... They are so loyal to us and ask for or require very little in return. They are there for you thru every part of their life and always give you the attention you need. Time will make it easier.
