Yeah I'm not sure I will be making my Canada Moose hunt again this year. Guess I should start looking for a different US hunt for Sept. or October. A good friend drew a mountain goat tag so I may just go help with that instead.

The gov. In Canada puts biden and the dems to shame since covid started. Arresting preachers, fining **** near everyone in the country.

I was holding out hope for a Canada moose hunt this year. I finally decided it was too big of a risk to put all my eggs in that basket and didnt want to end up empty handed this fall.
So I applied the last day online for the Montana Elk draw. I got lucky and drew so I decided to put Canada on hold until I can for sure plan something there and not get hosed by their govt.

The government there is in dang near full socialist mode. Quarantine hotels
Holding people like prisoners, fines for no mask even when you legally have a mask exemption. Police throwing preachers in jail and fining kids in parks.
The socialist there can’t or don’t care to see the damage being done to the country.....much like us I guess.
No one is going to book a hunt when a week quarantine is required before you can even start

Spoke w my outfitter this week for my multi species hunt in NW Territories that was supposed to be last yr that was rolled over to this yr. She is hearing that it should be open by Sept. The territories have opened for Canadian residents to travel there. Got my fingers crossed, been planning this hunt for a long time.

Not as bad in Western Canada where I work, but not great either. And with the slow rollout of vaccinations in Canada, I wouldn’t bet on the two week quarantines being lifted anytime soon. I’ve done the quarantine five times now, will start my sixth next Wednesday. And I will have five COVID tests over a 20 day period just to get back to my jobsite.

If you can even gain entry into Canada, would you be willing to spend 14 days in a hotel quarantine prior to starting your hunt? I’m sure most would not.

Same situation here with a bear hunt. My hunt last year was rolled to this year. Not going to happen this year. I'm at a point where I don't want to send any more money, looks like I will lose my down payment plus $500.
