Was that the rodeo cook-off debacle? Sad deal. We've lost a lot of good artists this year.

Yes sir I believe so. He got into a fight about 10 feet away from us and was hauled off in cuffs.

The man had some demons along the way and obviously succumbed to cancer, but he was a talented singer and musician. I was always a big fan.

Saw him at a New Year's Eve show after a Houston Aeros hockey game at the Summit. Slipping and sliding across the ice singing and having a ball. Sad to hear the news

I knew him...he was a family friend. His mom (Rose) and my grandma were best friends...my mom grew up babysitting Doug when he was a wee buck. Sad deal. God speed and rest easy Doug.

I remember him getting banned from the HLSR performances after his stunt from the rafters. We used to follow him around a bit when he was starting out...I’d always end up in his bus playing Nintendo and playing with his road pet, a pot belly pig (can’t remember it’s name). Too bad I was so young...woulda liked to party with him back then! He was a bit of a wild one!
