                  Good seafood salad. Not cheap but a good seafood salad on a cracker is just fab.

                          Since we chose Italian this year, appetizers will be bruschetta and caprese salad. Also all manner of cheesy breads. Maybe even some grilled pancetta and mozerella bites.

                            Eggplant casserole. Sounds weird, but this dish has been the biggest hit year after year at thanksgivings

                              Interesting idea to decide on a different style of food, I like it.

                              OP, if it counts as a side (more a dessert), my grandma would make a blueberry rhubarb cobbler with slivered almonds on top. I could just eat that and that alone for thanksgiving.
