Trying my first attempt this week, but on a smoker instead of the dehydrator. Will eventually try it with turkey as well.

Have a batch marinating right now.

Tried this last year when I first got my dehydrator with beef. Time for the real deal with venison!

Took some of the deer jerky to work today. Thumbs up by all that tasted.

Are you using any additional curing salt added to marinade mixture?

I sent Smart a message a few years ago before I tried this recipe. He said there is ample amounts of salt already in the marinade, and he has never added any.

Cut up 22 pounds of trimmings into jerky strips last Thursday. Decided to go with Jason's recipe........followed it verbatim. After a 24 hour soak, to the dehydrators it all went. With the weather, (cool and damp) it took approximately 10 hours. But I must admit I cut mine a tad thicker than the recipes recommended width.

Jason, the jerky turned out extremely well, great flavor! And not to mention, much simpler than my old go to.

                            Appreciate you sharing.
