Week 4 Trad First Shot Challenge 2021

The hunt goes on...no closed season on squirrel here in my county. I love me some tree rat boiled in chicken bouillion, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. Then... taking the boiling broth and boiling noodles in the broth and making squirrel spaghetti with a cream of mushroom base...yes using the same squirrel broth for the cream of mushroom base.

Draw or print a pic of a flattened squirrel in a tree. 7-8” long in the body head to rear foot. Mine at 7” long is realistically a bit short. The back is about 1 3/4-2” tall at back and about 3” high at head. Make an aim point where you please.

    One shot per day.
    Four days shots.
Measure edge of shaft to aim point.
Only shots on body including the head count to be measured. Tail shots dont count. Line cutters count.
Shoot from any position...preferably your favorite hunting position.
    Shoot from 12 yards
Closest measure from a single day wins.

I have a mess of squirrels and they seem to enjoy barking at me whilst open ground hunting. Ever so often I have to go through with the 22 and thin the local population...otherwise they tear up my house exterior and scratch around in the attic at gosh awful hours. Its about time to thin the herd.

    Good skillin Shooters.

It seems that even when annoyed and barking squirrels will come super close to investigate me. Oddly theyll still raise their front end and present a nice broadside shot during their investigation. Ive passed on numerous 3-5 yard shots whilst deer hunting. Were going 12 yards to actually present a challenge.

Cool challenge, Briar. And that's not a bad drawing, either!

Thank you T^2. I tried to redraw and clean up the lines but found my drawing muse only struck the first time.

        3 yards for kiddos.

Day 1: we three missed. My no1, and no2 shot. He hit closer than I. Im just super happy she shot.

I'm not an artist so I hope this pic will do.

I only drew the tree Gary. I’m not artistic.
