He went on a full speed sprint in about 150-200 yd semicircle…. Ended up down 75 yds from impact. Guide actually got the whole thing on video on his phone…. 14 seconds from arrow impact to lights out crash. The other interesting thing from the video that tells me what you think you saw happen isn’t always the case. From that screen capture you can clearly see the arrow buried to the nock… what I saw live was the bull turning and running with half the arrow sticking out, leading me to believe I didn’t get very good penetration. What actually happened is the arrow hit the offside shoulder, and as he turned to run that shoulder pushed the arrow back out almost instantly. Last edited by RCDuck; 10-03-2022 at 10:41 PM. |

Good deal!!! I wasn’t sure when looking at the still frame of the arrow embedded in him whether it got both lungs or not. Apparently it did! Congrats again, dream bull to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Whelp. Elk hunt I had planned on going in November is a no go now. Seems like we lost our connections for some private land Colorado we had access to.
Missouri deer hunt it is. |

Lots of great bulls in this thread! Congrats to everyone on their successes this season! The west Texas and the Oregon bulls are
![]() ![]() ![]() Had a great hunt with Michael in New Mexico during first archery. Lots of bugles in the am but afternoons were quiet. Had a number of bulls well within rifle or muzzy range, just couldn't get them to come in that last bit we needed for a good bow shot. I chased an awesome 7x6 around the last day we hunted and had him within 50 yards, 5 different times. We were in some thick pinyon country and it sounded like I was walking on cornflakes. He did a great job about keeping brush between us ![]() ![]() |

Hats off to you gentlemen, great bulls so far !
Getting our chance to rifle hunt this weekend, starting Thursday actually, on the ranch we work for. Heads up for those travelling up into the Rockies next week for say Oct 15th elk opener up here or a season in CO. Might be the first really cold front with snow coming in mid week next week. Could affect travel and they are saying might get COLD. |

Thanks! The weather was great this year. We had highs in the 50's and lows in the 20's, but they were expecting 12-20 inches of snow and 45 mph winds the day we left. 2 years ago we got about 2 ft of snow a couple of days in and had highs in the 30's and single digit lows.

Got camp all setup this evening, thermometer outside says it's 6 degrees. Looking at the forecast for this area we've got only one night in the next 7 that are not single digits.

Just returned from hunting unit 50 Colorado last week
Our group went 6/8 on elk and deer tags. 40-50 degrees daytime and 8-12 degrees for morning temps. Filled my bull tag and did see some other bigger bulls but they didn’t present open or clear shots ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

This really deserves its own thread what do y’all think about the petition for the reintroduction of jaguars to their native territories.
Especially some of the places they want to introduce the jaguars to: [b] Reports and scientific studies described in the petition described the Gila National Forest and the broader Mogollon Plateau, extending northwest to the Grand Canyon, as excellent habitats for jaguar populations. The petition also seeks the release of jaguars in the Gila National Forest, which includes the Gila Wilderness and adjoining Aldo Leopold Wilderness. The Gila National Forest harbors abundant deer, elk and javelina that the center says could support a potential jaguar population.[b] This information is from AZCentral. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/techn...co/ar-AA15esLb |
