Filling the gap between 223 and 30-06

What bolt action would you chose to fill the gap between 223 and 30-06? Looking for something low recoil that kids/women won't mind t hunting and plinking with.

It really boils down to 243 or 6.5CM. I have experience with both. 7mm-08 is nice, too. 6mm CM might be interesting. Probably prefer short action. Already have the lever actions taken care of.

6.5 cm is a good in between round having bullet options from 123s up to 143s. IMO a great round for whitetail, antelope and any other mid size game. My mom shot a buck with my 6.5 this year and commented on the low recoil.

I guess i would probably ride the 6.5 CM wave, seems to fill that niche well

the 6.5 CM would fit this bill.

                    I'm a huge 7mm-08 fan as well

                        7mm-08 would be my choice.

7mm-08 would be hard to beat, low recoil and accurate. Quite honestly, I would find a 25-06 in a varmint configuration. Around 10 pounds in weight and the recoil should not create that "flinch". Once a person gets that "flinch" its hard to shake, and a kid can sour easy on a kicking rifle.

243 Win is such a versatile caliber for varmints up through deer and antelope size game.

I am thinking about buying one to bridge the gap between my 220 Swift and 7mm RUM. The other caliber I am weighing as well is the 6.5 PRC.
